Slinky - Personal Work

The other night I wanted to try out the mental ray materials in Maya. So I decided to make something quick as it was late. I used the 'helix' tool and increased the 'coils' until i reached the desired effect. I then used a non linear bend tool to turn it into the classic slinky shape. I applied the mental ray mia chrome materials and rendered in high quality 1080p settings with a Phong E base to give it some reflection from the area lights.
